General: Surprise at Eliminiator World Cup

September 1, 2013 by the editorial office

The Austrian Daniel Federspiel was the big favorite for the title fights in Pietermaritzburg, South Africa. He is almost certain of the World Cup, only the rainbow jersey was missing for a completely successful season. It was therefore more than understandable that Federspiel was highly concentrated from the start. He showed no weaknesses in any of his runs. Only in the final was he defeated by the Australian Paul van der Ploeg. He used his height as an advantage and pushed himself to the front right after the start. He didn't give it up after that. In a thrilling battle for second place, Federspiel finally relegated Catriel Andres Soto from Argentina. The best German was Andy Eyring in fifth place.
