The Russian Irina Kalentieva (Topeak-Ergon) proved her good form at the UCI World Cup in Hafjell, Norway. At the end of the World Cup, she won in front of the Italian champion Eva Lechner. Together with this Kalentieva had led the race for a long time. Then on the last lap it broke. For Kalentieva it was the first World Cup victory in three years.
Third-placed Julie Bresset (BH-SR Suntour) was also among the leaders for a long time, but was temporarily thrown back by a technical defect. In the last lap she managed to catch up with Lechner. However, this one used her sprinting skills and maintained her rank.
The leader in the overall World Cup to date, Tanja Zakelij (Unior Tools), crossed the line in sixth place on the day and thus secured the title.
