After Maximilian Levy and Robert Förstemann, the organizers of the traditional Berlin 6-day race were able to commit two more top-class athletes for the coming edition from January 23rd to 28th, 2014. As head of sport Dieter Stein announced, the reigning world champions in the Madison, the French Morgan Kneisky and Vivien Brisse will also be chasing laps in the velodrome.
"We are proud to bring the current world champions to the starting line again this year with Morgan Kneisky and Vivien Brisse", says Stein, who is in talks with other top stars of the scene. “It is always something very special when the drivers compete in Berlin in the rainbow jerseys of the world association. And it creates excitement in the competitions, because world champions are always good for victory.”
Both are no strangers to the capital. Shortly before winning the world championship title in Minsk, they started in Berlin and prepared for the highlight of the season in Belarus. Now they are wearing the rainbow jersey and are among the favorites for a place on the podium at the 103rd Berlin 6-Day Race.
