The Californian component specialist Crank Brothers offers a wide range of bike parts. In addition to the world-famous Eggbeaterpedals and optically very unusual wheels, different stem and handlebar models are also offered.

The new features for the Cobalt- and iodineseries introduced.

The XC and marathon ones Cobaltseries has slimmed down a bit for the 2014 season. The 700 millimeter wide version of the handlebar with a rise of 15 millimeters will only weigh 270 grams. The Cobalt 3handlebars are made of 7050 aluminum and are also offered in two new handlebar widths. This includes both the 680 millimeter narrow version and the slightly oversized 780 millimeter wide version. The handlebars also stand out visually from the previous year's model. That's how you have it Cobalt- Series missed new decals. The carbon variant, the Cobalt 11handlebars are also available in widths of 680 and 780 millimeters.

The matching stem will be available in two variants, the Cobalt 11 and Cobalt 3. The carbon variant, the Cobalt 11, is available in four lengths of 80, 90, 100 and 110 millimeters. Each of these versions has six degrees of Rise. Compared to its predecessor, the stem is said to be twice as stiff and at the same time lighter. The 110 millimeter long version weighs only 105 grams.

The aluminum stem, the Cobalt 3, will be made of 6061 aluminum in the future and thus saves around nine percent in weight, so it now weighs 148 grams. The key data of Cobalt 3 are similar to those of Cobalt 11.

The iodineseries is aimed at all downhill-oriented mountain bikers. The handlebar is available in a total of three versions, the high-end version Iodine 11, Iodine 3 and Iodine 2. The key data Iodine 11 and the Iodine 2 are the same. Both have a width of 780 millimeters, a 30 millimeter rise and a nine degree backsweep. The Iodine 3 is only available in a 720 millimeter wide version.

The iodine-Stem has been completely redesigned for the coming year. In addition to a new look, the wedge-shaped clamp has also been modified. In this way, a conventional clamp is used and, according to Crank Brothers, achieves 30 percent greater rigidity. The Iodine 3-and Iodine 2-Stems differ only in the material of the clamp. The faceplate of the more expensive version was made of carbon, while that of the cheaper model was made of aluminum. In terms of weight, this makes a difference of 16 grams.
