cycling: KMC becomes title sponsor of the MTB Bundesliga 2014

6 December 2013 by the editorial office

XCE1

The international MTB Bundesliga starts the 2014 season with a new sponsor. The chain manufacturer KMC supports the five-part XC series in Germany as the title sponsor.

"The MTB Bundesliga is one of the highest quality competition series in the world and we are happy to be a partner of the series"

In recent years, KMC has already gained experience with the Bundesliga organizers in Bad Säckingen and Heubach. "We were very satisfied with both the Sabine Spitz Gold Trophy and the BiketheRock", explains Michael Stichling, Sales Manager at KMC. The Taiwanese chain manufacturer is already supporting the teams around Sabine Spitz and Julie Bresset. "Therefore it is logical to accompany the whole Bundesliga series now", says Stickling. "The MTB Bundesliga is one of the highest-quality competition series in the world and we are happy to be a partner of the series".

BDR Vice President Udo Sprenger is also pleased about the future cooperation:"We are excited about this partnership and hope that with the help of KMC we can continue to develop the series."

Five XC races and four XCE decisions are planned in the Bundesliga for 2014.

//KMC MTB Bundesliga 2014

#1 05-06 April / Neustadt
#2 May 11 / Saalhausen DM XCE
#3 May 12 / Saalhausen
#4 17-18 May / Heubach
#5 12-13 July / Schopp
#6 19-20 July / Bad Säckingen DM XCO (no BL ranking)
#7 13-14 September / Bad Salzdetfurth

//Four sprints and double points in Bad Salzdetfurth

There should also be an eliminator sprint at all locations, which, as before, will also be included in the overall Bundesliga ranking with half the points. The German sprint championship in Saalhausen takes place as part of the Bundesliga weekend, but because international drivers are not allowed there, no Bundesliga points are awarded for it.

The double number of points for the final races in Bad Salzdetfurth was newly decided. This applies to the sprint as well as to the cross-country races. This is intended to increase the attractiveness of the last event and the excitement again.
