At Eurobike 2013, Platzangst presented their new collection for the first time. With pants, jerseys, and jackets for every type of mountain biker, the Berlin-based company has already won over a number of cycling enthusiasts in recent years. For the 2014 season, they experimented with a new color scheme. We were given the opportunity to test the new Crossflex suit for men in the woods beforehand.
Claustrophobia is known for its somewhat daring, but still harmonious color combination. Our test models come in olive green and black with neon yellow accents - a simple combination with a beautiful eye-catcher. Both the jacket and the pants were created for light all-mountain and enduro tours and are based on the 4-way stretch material, which consists of 86 percent nylon and 14 percent spandex.
As the name suggests, the Platzangst Crossflex shorts offer a comfortable stretch and a snug fit around the hips. A zipper and two snap fasteners keep the shorts securely in place. Each side features a zippered ventilation opening, allowing for easy adjustment as needed. Two pockets are also integrated into the shorts, both located on the right side. The sporty cut, combined with the relatively sturdy fabric, provides a secure feeling and keeps out the cold autumn air (and current winter chill).
The Crossflex jacket has a very casual look. Its sporty, relaxed fit makes it suitable for everyday wear. Two large pockets offer enough space for accessories or a phone. Ventilation openings under the arms allow for good air circulation inside the jacket.
