Dutchman Lars van der Haar (Rabobank) leads the World Cup with a relatively secure cushion. His account balance shows 407 points, a whole 54 points more than Niels Albert (BKCP-Powerplus) can show. Nevertheless, the Belgian has not given up his hopes of defending the overall World Cup. And he has chances, after all, there are 80 points for a win. The race would have to go badly for Van der Haar. However, if you look at the past World Cup races, he would not only be a worthy, but also a deserved overall winner. From the start he drove in a dominant and controlled manner. The German champion Philipp Walsleben, who is currently third in the overall standings and has 344 points, had to acknowledge this.

The US American Katie Compton was just as dominant as the men. However, their overall victory is certain. The battle for second place between Nikki Harris (Young Telenet) and Sanne Cant (Enertherm-BKCP) should be more exciting here.

Regardless of the outcome of the World Cup finals in Nommay, France, the race will definitely be an indicator of the forthcoming World Championships in Hoogerheide next weekend.
