From a long winter to the start of the season in Vinschgau - can that go well? With top equipment to test and lots of cycling celebrities, Storck's annual "Season Opener" at the Hotel Lindenhof makes it easy to get started.
What is the season without its highlights? The pros focus their entire planning on a few particularly important events, and there are also many opportunities for ambitious amateur athletes to immerse themselves in the big, wide world of cycling. After all, it's pretty boring to always ride the local circuit, and at some point even the local bike marathon is no longer good for motivation.
The cycling week in the exclusive wellness hotel Lindenhof in Vinschgau offers a perfect opportunity to spice up the cycling year early on.
In mid-April, the apple trees are already blooming in Vinschgau, and some passes are sure to be free of snow - so it doesn't always have to be Mallorca. The Martelltal, for example, which is on the 2014 route map of the Giro, is worth a training lap.
If you forgot your bike at home: no problem! In this case, cycling guests can look forward to riding the new Storck Aernario. The current benchmark in terms of rigidity is a real dream bike, which we were already able to convince ourselves of in the editorial office.
And if a Storck, equipped with Lightweight wheels, is not enough as a drive alone, then the other illustrious guests are referred to.
As in previous years, well-known ex-professionals will be guests and go on tour every day: Oscar Camenzind, the 1998 world champion and his buddy Alex Zülle, for example, or Jörg Ludewig, who guarantees a good atmosphere on the bike and at the aprés bike .
A special highlight this year is Jan Ullrich as a guest at the Lindenhof. From Thursday he will be part of the daily trips and will really give his new Storck Aernario from the Signature series the spurs for the first time.
If you want to take part in this cycling week, which we can particularly recommend from personal experience, you should hurry. As we found out from the "cycling-mad" hotel manager Joachim Nischler, there are still a few rooms available.
