The Cannondale Factory Racing Team around Marco Fontana and the German star, Manuel Fumic, is strengthened this season by the Canadian Max Plaxton. Plaxton rode for the Canadian Sho-Air Cannondale team last year and was supported at the World Cups by Cannondale's coaches and mechanics. He was able to get three top 10 finishes, including a fifth place in Nove Mesto, which caught the attention of the team boss. The fact that Plaxton is now included in the Factory Team is the next logical step to push the 28-year-old further.
"We've been watching Max's competitions over the past year and his results speak for themselves. We're thrilled to have him on the team", said Bob Burbank, Cannondale CEO.
"I'm really happy to drive with a strong squad", comments Plaxton. "I'm ready to do my best in the 2014 season." The goal is still the top 10 in the World Cup and one or the other podium. With the new addition, the team has now grown to five top-class drivers.
