Testing: Natural Shine Half Egg 2000 Ng: For the kilometers in the evening

Who does not know that? Mallorca, Andalusia and other sunny places are far away. The first training camp was a day ago or even a few days ago, but the season is fast approaching. The only option that stays with you is the training ride in the evening. A lamp is usually indispensable for this.

The bicycle light manufacturer Natural Shine has with the Half Egg 2000 Ng a strong model in the portfolio. The lamp, whose name comes from its design, can be easily attached to the handlebars using a rubber ring and a corresponding rail. The battery itself is hidden in a pocket that clips onto the stem. Despite its small size, the Half Egg oozes strength. It has different power modes and good lighting angles, which illuminate the path well even at the simplest level. At maximum power, the battery lasts up to three hours. Nothing stands in the way of fun training rides.

The lamp can be switched on and operated using a push button on the rear end of the housing. The different modes are marked on the housing frame for orientation. Overall, the Half Egg Ng 2000 have a light output of 128 lux at a distance of 10 meters and 620 lux at 4,5 meters, depending on the light level. These are divided into 100 percent, 30 percent and ten percent including white light. With all three light levels, the light color is 6500 Kelvin.

The outer casing of the Half Egg Ng 2000 is milled from an aluminum block. The Natural Shine engineers copied this processing method from aerospace technology, with the aim of making the lamp as robust and durable as possible. As a result, this means that the Half Egg Ng 2000 survives a trip in a downpour unscathed and can also be used at temperatures well below freezing.

//Conclusion

The natural shine Half Egg Ng 2000 It's only about the size of a fist, but it's bursting with power. During my training rides in the evening, it was able to impress, not least because of its brightness and its low weight of just 115 grams.
