The Swiss Bigla Cycling Team, which also includes the German Martina Zwick, starts the season today at the Belgian classic Le Samyn des Dames. The race will be the first after the training camp in Benidorm. Then it's on to the Flèche Wanzenoise on March 8th and the Omloop van het Hageland – Tielt-Winge on March 9th for the women.
Dutch Vera Koedooder leads the squad. She will be supported by Joanne Hogan, Taryn Heather from Australia, Katarina Hranaiova from the Czech Republic and Nicole Hanselmann and Sandra Weiss from Switzerland.
"[The] Races won't be easy. We expect the field to break up into groups due to gusts of wind and speed.”, said the sporting director Mario Vonhof. “But we are confident. We had ideal training conditions in Benidorm. The weather was good and nobody got sick. We were able to train as we had planned and we were also able to train more specific things.”. As a goal, Vonhof announced a place in the top 10.
