Many trust Jan Frodeno, the Olympic champion in Beijing, to have a successful long-distance career. Some even believe that he could become the first athlete in the sport to win the Ironman in Hawaii in addition to an Olympic title.

A first step after Kona should be the start at the Ironman EM on July 6th in Frankfurt. Here Frodeno wants to collect important points for the qualification. The organizer announced this. Frodeno himself is quoted as saying: "I'll be ready for it." The start in Frankfurt will be his long-distance debut for the 32-year-old.
