Product news: Lapierre Pulsium: Subdued classic friend

The French WorldTour team Lapierre can look forward to two new models from bike manufacturer Lapierre this year. Next to the aero bolide air code Gilles Lapierre is now making his new comfort bike available to the team. The pulse has some exciting details that should not only please the professionals, but also everyone in the future.

The FD.fr team used the bike for the first time during the classic E3 Prijs Harelbeke. The next endurance test is to follow as part of the Tour of Flanders and Paris-Roubaix.

The most exciting detail of the Pulsium is hidden inside the frame. At the transition between the top and seat tube, the engineers have inserted an elastomer into the pulse integrated. This should effectively reduce recoil from bumps such as pavement. In order for the bike to remain stiff, the head and down tube as well as the bottom bracket area are very bulbous.

The frame is made of different 40, 30 and 24 ton high modulus carbon layers. The fork has an offset from 50 to 43 millimeters. The chainstays have been compared to the previous comfort racer xelius extended. This grants the pulse a longer wheelbase and therefore smoother running. Also new is the design of the rear end, which, together with the appropriate brake pads, allows 32 millimeter wide tires to be fitted.

It is not yet clear when the bike will go on sale.
