The Finnish company Polar is one of the pioneers with regard to performance-controlled training. In recent years, however, things have calmed down a bit around Finnish products. This should deal with that RCX3 . change

equipment and practice

The training computer RCX3 by Polar is a well-designed training monitoring tool that is unique to Polar. The model is available in two colors: black, as in the present test, or white, as a pure women's model with a slightly narrower bracelet.

The multisport watch is available in three different versions, whereby Polar focuses on the individual needs of the customer. The RCX3 bike set includes a heart rate monitor, a bike mount, a speed sensor and a data link for data transfer to the computer. There is also a run version and a version that includes a G5 GPS receiver.

The RCX3 bike set is easy to get going. The clock can be easily attached to the handlebars using the bracket included in the set. This allows you to use the RCX3 like a normal computer.

The display is easy to read thanks to the large numbers and the display structure is clear and easy to understand. However, the control buttons are quite small, so you have to be careful to press them firmly to call up the desired menu. Another small drawback: With other polar devices, the RXC3 easily disturb. When starting the tour, you have to make sure that no other Polar user is nearby, otherwise you run the risk of not seeing your own heart rate on the watch. During training, the RXC3 but do not disturb and works perfectly.

It should be exciting for triathletes that the change between two sports can be done easily. All you have to do is go to the start menu between the options to go biking, Run respectively other sport choose.

Also positive is the possibility to record the success of a total of 99 training sessions and 99 split times. In addition, you can display the current or average heart rate, but also have the calorie consumption reported. At the end of the training, the RCX3 summarize the unity in clear sentences.

Conclusion

The RCX3 bike is up to date and completely dispenses with all aspects that distract from the essential training parameters. The display is large and easy to read, and operation is intuitive. A pleasant plus point is the automatic training evaluation. During the test, we also noticed the versatility of the device, although you should make sure to see your own data on the display before using it.
