Product news: Santa Cruz Nomad with 650B wheels and new geometry

1 April 2014 by the editorial office

santacruz4

The Californian cult forge Santa Cruz, which is based in the surfer paradise of the same name, presents the new edition of their trail bike classic, the Nomad. With the revised Nomad a modern enduro bike has been created, one that has a more aggressive geometry compared to the previous models. In the past, you relied on a trail-heavy all-mountain geometry with a relatively short top tube and comparatively long rear triangle. Now you're switching and shortening the rear triangle while the main frame is growing. A flat steering angle of 65 degrees should also convey a lot of security and smooth running.

The Santa Cruz Nomad also uses the larger 650B wheels for the first time and lets the bike appear in a completely new light with a clean carbon frame. The typical Santa Cruz VPP-Suspension system also comes with the new one Nomad and, thanks to a new, more compact linkage lever, releases a whopping 165 millimeters of spring travel. With internally routed tubes, you not only realize a clean cable routing, you also minimize annoying noises in the frame and thus create an apparently well thought-out bike. The bike will be available from today and is available in the colors black and aqua/magenta. The complete bike, equipped with the latest Rock Shox technology, weighs just 12,3 kilograms and promises playful handling.
