cycling: Travis Meyer seriously injured in training

14 April 2014 by the editorial office

meyer

Australian Travis Meyer, younger brother of Orica GreenEdge pro Cameron Meyer, was seriously injured in a training accident in Andorra over the weekend. He is currently in a hospital in Barcelona. According to his team Drapac, Meyer suffered a fractured skull, a fractured jaw and lung injuries in a collision with a car.

It is not known how long the 24-year-old has to stay in the hospital. Meyer rode for Team Garmin in 2010-2011, after which he rode with his brother for two years on Australian WorldTour team Orica-GreenEdge before joining Drapac earlier this year.
