Clothing: 2XU Elite Compression Tights: Relaxation ahoy

June 13, 2014 by the editorial office

Test: Compression has been very popular for several years. More and more athletes wear appropriate clothing both during training and for relaxation. There are many manufacturers who produce such products. However, not all of them are really good.

One company that is fully committed to producing quality compression products is 2XU. How theirs Elite compression tights beat, we were allowed to experience.

equipment and practice

The Elite compression tights combines the advantages of its model brothers, the normal ones Compression tights and the recovery tights. As soon as you put it on, you can tell that the manufacturer has put some thought into the wearing comfort. Responsible for this is the soft PWX Flexmaterial which is also breathable. You notice this especially when you wear the trousers in warm temperatures. Here they leave a pleasantly cooling impression.

The pants are very tight, as you would expect from compression pants. This may bother some, but there is a system. It is noticeable that they offer more compression on the calves than on the thighs. The seams are all flat so that they don't leave any annoying marks. In addition, there is a cord in the waistband that can be used to more or less prevent the pants from slipping. It can be stowed in a small integrated pocket after use.

With regard to the compression performance for athletes - people who need medical compression clothing should seek separate advice - is the Elite compression tights impressive. The combination of different materials in a special cut is responsible for the compression. This allows the muscles to be supplied with more oxygen.

Because of the tight fit, you can tell you're wearing the pants. This is still the case after some time. However, there is no feeling of being cramped. Rather, one notices how the muscles are brought into a relaxed state. What is exciting is that you can feel this both during training and afterwards. The muscles are more relaxed, especially after hard sessions.

Conclusion

When you first put on the 2XU Elite Compression Tights, you get the feeling that they are relatively tight in the calves but slightly looser in the thighs. But this feeling is by no means disturbing. On the contrary: We have seldom worn compression pants that exude such comfort. The legs feel much more relaxed during and especially after training than is the case with most similar products.
