June 6, 2014 by the editorial office

Probike: Jens Voigt no longer needs an introduction. The quintessential rouleur is racing for the Trek Factory Racing Team this year. During the Bayern Rundfahrt we took a look at his bike last week.

TheJensie, as he likes to be called in the USA, is at one this year Madone 7 Series traveling. This is characterized by a number of special features.

Most of the components come from Trek subsidiary Bontrager. So it is not surprising that Voigt has a 42 at the front XXX Race X-handlebar and one XXX-Stem. Also mounted on the front is the SRM computer, which not only gives the Berliner the wattage, but also all other relevant parameters.

A white Serano RL is mounted on the Race XXX Lite seatpost.

The Aeolus 5 D3-Wheels have a rim height of 50 millimeters and are labeled Spline-Hubs from DT Swiss. They are covered with Schwalbe's new top tubular tire, the One, for which Voigt also officially serves as an advertising medium.

However, the heart of Voigt's work equipment is the frame. The models of the Madone 7-Series are characterized by their distinctive comb tail-Carbon tubes made. A speed sensor is also integrated on the left strut.

The rear brake is aerodynamically hidden behind the bottom bracket. However, this also allows Trek to do without the usual brake bridge on the support struts and thus make the frame both stiffer and more comfortable at the rear.

Shimano supplies the shifting components. Here is the 11x DuraAce Di2 installed. The crank had 53/39 geared blades installed when we got the bike on camera.

What is exciting is that Voigt does not use a conventional brake either at the front or at the front, but on the directly mounted side pull model of the DuraAce 9010 dodges.

Voigt is driving his last season this year. And as you are used to from him, he will also attack in the remaining races of the season. It is then also possible to take a look at your bike during the race.
