Giro d'Italia: For Nairo Quintana there were eight super-fast laps of honor in Trieste. The Colombian stays in pink as he celebrates his first major victory in a national tour after finishing second in the 2013 Tour de France.

The 25-year-old Slovenian Luka Mezgec from Team Giant-Shimano got the day's win ahead of Giacomo Nizzolo (Trek), Tylar Farrar (Garmin-Sharp) and Nacer Bouhanni (FDJ.fr).
