cycling: Julian Arredondo extends with Trek

June 10, 2014 by the editorial office

giro1

Cycling: During the Giro d'Italia he was somewhat overshadowed by his compatriots Nairo Quintana (Movistar) and Rigoberto Uran (Omega Pharma-QuickStep). Nevertheless, Julian Arredondo (Trek) was able to celebrate the blue mountain jersey on the podium at the end of the Tour of Italy. He also won the 18th stage.

The Trek team was also happy about this, which extended the contract with the 25-year-old Colombian prematurely until the end of 2016.

"In the short time that Julian has only been a professional player, he has made a solid name for himself", said Luca Guercilena, manager of the USA team. Arredondo was also pleased. “Signing a contract extension so early in the season also shows that the team believes in me. But it also spurs me on to repay the trust.”

Arredondo is currently in Colombia. He will return to racing in the Tour of Utah and Tour of Colorado in August.
