cycling: Ster ZLM Toer: André Greipel wins final stage

June 22, 2014 by the editorial office

gripel

Cycling: André Greipel (Lotto Belisol) won the last stage of the Ster ZLM Toer. Overall victory went to Belgian Philippe Gilbert (BMC).

After the prologue, Gilbert also won the difficult stage on Saturday and thus laid the foundation for overall victory. As expected, Marcel Kittel (Giant Shimano), who had held the overall lead to date, had nothing to do with the outcome of the stage.

Greipel finally secured the last part of the day in a sprint ahead of Tyler Farrar (Garmin-Sharp) and Robert Wagner (Belkin) from Magdeburg.
