Market: BMC returns to the cyclocross market. With the Cross machine CX01 the Swiss bicycle manufacturer is launching a bike that can already celebrate its first victories.
The bike is based on the frame kit equipped with cantilever brakes, which Lukas Flückiger rode to Swiss championship honors in January. In addition, the comfort know-how from the well-known Granfondo GF 01 was incorporated into the frame.
The down tube of the frame is relatively thick compared to the struts. The low attachment of these should increase comfort without making any compromises in terms of racing geo. With a weight of 1.100 grams, the frame is also quite light.
A special feature is that the frame will only be available as a disc brake version. The plan is to mount 140 millimeter discs on the wheels. However, the fork can also handle 160-millimeter discs.
The models are equipped with Sram's new CX1 hydro group, i.e. have 1×11 gears. When it comes to the wheels, BMC relies on DT Swiss R23 splinesthat with Continental Cyclo X King 700x35c-tires are related. The handlebar-stem combination is supplied by BMC, as is the seat post itself. A Fizik is used as the saddle Arion be installed. In this configuration, the bike tips the scales at a slim 7,7 kilograms.
There will be five sizes in total. The bike should be available from autumn, a price is not yet known to us.
