Market: In 2004, at the launch of the brand, Rapha presented the Kings of Painexhibition and dedicated it to the drivers Fausto Coppi, Jacques Anquetil, Raymond Poulidor, Eddy Merckx, Tom Simpson and Bernard Hinault. They all embody the spirit of road cycling and have become true heroes of the sport on the grand tours and classics such as Liège-Bastogne-Liège and Paris-Nice.
For the tenth anniversary you now have the Kings of Paincollection presented. Rapha dedicates this among other things Tom Southam, David Millar and Marianne Vos, essential characters and icons of the sport. The collection includes a jersey, a cap, a bottle opener and the Essential Case. All products are designed in a deep black and have five characteristic motives which the Kings of Pain represent:
- The Stripes of the "Convicts of the Highway"
- Blood, sweat, tears and dirt
- The Kings of Pain-Then
- The royal crown, reminiscent of older hallmarks
- The arrowhead used to brand convicts
