Cycling: The eighth stage of the Giro Rosa led the women's elite from Verbania to San Domenico di Varzo.
The British Emma Pooley (Lotto Belisol Ladies) was able to secure her second victory of the day. She won ahead of Mara Abbott (UnitedHealthcare) from the USA and Anna van der Breggen (Rabo Liv Women Cycling Team) from the Netherlands. Marianne Vos (Rabo Liv Women Cycling Team) continues to lead in the overall standings.
