Cycling: The JBC 4X Revelations made fourcross history last year. This year, the organizers went one better and showed the full potential of the sport. Tomas Slavik repeated his win from last year and remains the undisputed king of the JBC 4X Revelations event.
The 4X Pro Tour stopped in Jablonec nad Nisou in the Czech Republic again this year. Almost 50 riders started on what is probably the most demanding track that fourcross has ever seen and fought for every single centimetre.
The track and not the remaining drivers was often the biggest opponent. The route in the JBC Bike Park is second to none and features huge XNUMX meter jumps, a narrow section of forest and a large rock field. Many riders already had big problems staying on their bikes during training.
Tomas Slavik qualified unchallenged ahead of his teammate Felix Beckeman. Both were able to take first and second place last year and thus secured the best possible starting position to repeat their success.
From a German point of view, Aiko Göhler, currently the fastest driver, started and made it into the top 10 with a solid ninth place. Ingo Schegk only just missed qualifying for the top 32 drivers.
The final runs of the Top32 started under the best conditions on Saturday evening. With more than 7000 spectators, the slope of the bike park was lined with people making for an electrifying atmosphere. In the end, Tomas Slavik, Quentin Derbier, Hynek Strouha and Felix Beckeman prevailed in exciting runs and the spectators watched the grand finale with anticipation.
As in the previous year, Tomas Slavik was unstoppable. Although Frenchman Derbier was able to keep up into the first corner, he was beaten here by Slavik and Beckeman, who pushed past on the inside. Slavik and Beckeman drove to the finish in a duet and repeated their double victory from 2013 for the RSP team. Hynek Strouha beat Derbier in the Wlad to complete the podium.
Aiko Göhler drove a strong race and secured seventh place in the small final.
