Market: Ritchey presents the Ritchey Bullmoose, a one-piece carbon handlebar-stem combination for mountain bikes.
Ritchey celebrates the revival of a historic handlebar with the Bullsmoose . After Tom Ritchey's handlebars slipped and he crashed during the legendary Repack downhill race, the MTB pioneer ventured into creating the first one-piece handlebar-stem combination. His goal was to develop a stiff unit for direct handling that also prevented the handlebars from slipping. This design went down in history as the Bullsmoose and is now being revived.
Thirty-five years later, however, the design was approached from a slightly different perspective. "I wanted to develop a stiff, lightweight, and modern cockpit based on the Bullmoose design. This design offers enormous advantages, especially in terms of stiffness. The triangular stem is incredibly stiff and perfectly absorbs the leverage of the handlebars ," said Ritchey.
The new Bullsmoose is available in five different stem lengths:
- 70mm stem – 720mm handlebar width
- 80mm stem - 730mm handlebar width
- 90, 100, 110mm stem - 740mm handlebar width
The Bullsmoose weighs 350 grams and is expected to cost 270 euros. It will be presented to the public for the first time at Eurobike 2014.
