cycling: Tour de France: It's over for Chris Froome

July 9, 2014 by the editorial office

Cycling: The Tour de France will not have a British winner this year. Chris Froome (Sky) fell again on today's fifth stage.

The British champion fell twice before the field cleared the first pavé of stage five, which included parts of Paris-Roubaix. In adverse weather conditions, Froome slipped and injured his right shoulder.

The fall injuries forced him to end the stage early and drop out of the tour.
