Cycling: The endless trails of the Silvretta Bike Arena between Ischgl and Swiss Samnaun are no longer an insider tip among enduro fans. The second Ischgl Overmountain Challenge from 12 to 14 September 2014 is looking for the continent's fastest enduro riders. Top stars like Frenchman Jérôme Clementz, the first world champion in enduro sport, Manuel Ducci (ITA) and Nico Lau (FRA) don't miss out on the unbelievable trails of the Silvretter Bike Arena.
Ischgl and especially the trails on both sides of the Austrian and Swiss borders are very much in line with the enduro racing format and meet international requirements. The Ischgl Overmountain Challenge will be held again this year in the form of a European Enduro Open. Some big names in the sport confirmed their attendance weeks ago. "I've been to Ischgl several times now and can only say that it's a paradise for bikers - high mountains, great trails and a beautiful landscape. I'm already looking forward to the Ischgl Overmountain Challenge 2014 to defend my title", so the French enduro world champion Jérôme Clementz. In addition to big prize money, the event is particularly attractive because of the high alpine trails.
“The format remains unchanged and so the Ischgl Overmountain Challenge will also be held as the European Enduro Open this year. We will tweak the track setup a bit and the brutal climb in stage 2 will be run in 2014 as a transfer. And one more thing: we didn’t order any snow this year”, says a smiling Georgy Grogger.
As the European Enduro Open, this year's participation in the Ischgl Overmountain Challenge is open to everyone and offers every enthusiastic biker the chance to spend a weekend heating up the high alpine trails with the stars of the scene. International top athletes as well as numerous hobby endurists are expected at this top-class sporting event in the Silvretta Mountainbike Arena.
