Triathlon: The Swiss Sven Riederer celebrated a conciliatory end of the season at the ITU World Cup in Alanya. Maaike Caelers from the Netherlands won the women's competition.
While things didn't always go according to plan for Riederer during the year, this time he was in a good mood. Right from the start he was at the front of the field. This stayed the same on the bike. After the second change, however, Riederer turned up the heat. After 1:45:57 hours, the Swiss finally prevailed thanks to a strong sprint against the Italian Alessandro Fabian and the Spaniard David Castro.
In the women, Caelers won much more clearly. In the end, the Dutchman took about half a minute from her opponents and relegated the Czech Vendula Frintova and the Ukrainian Yulia Yelistratova to the places. Unfortunately, Sophia Saller did not have the necessary reserves in the sprint and was relegated to fourth place by a very narrow margin.
