After Tino won the sixth stage of the Tour of China I, he was in good shape for the final section of the tour. In the end it was enough for second place, just behind the winner Boris Shpilevsky.
The last stage was held on a circuit in Chongqing Banan. This was characterized by a wavy profile and a short climb before the finish. The race was neutralized on the first lap due to strong winds and toppling barriers.
After that we drove a watchful race, to finally join forces 6 kilometers before the finish and start the sprint for Tino. We actually did this quite well. Together we got him over the last climb, but two kilometers from the finish we were too early in the wind. In the end, Tino got stuck a bit on the home stretch, but was still able to secure a strong second place.
In the overall standings, Niko Holler also achieved a very good 20th place. It will continue in China next week. Then the Tour of China II is coming up.
