Market: The US bike manufacturer Cannondale has revised its time trial machine Slice and is now launching it in a completely new guise.
The Slice is aimed at triathletes and time trial enthusiasts. There will be five models in total. The top model is the Slice Black Inc. Cannondale will also offer the Slice Dura-Ace Di2, Slice Ultegra Di2, Slice Ultegra 6800 and Slice 105 models.
According to Cannondale, the new slice is "the lightest, most comfortable and best fitting aero triathlon machine ever built."
When creating the frame, the engineers drew on their knowledge from the production of the SuperSix Evo and manufactured the slice as a Ballistec carbon frame. The extremely slim Naero-Tech seatstays and the flat, flexing Aero-Plane chainstays should not only be very aerodynamic, but also comfortable. The truncated aero profile shape of the tubes is said to offer the Slice the best mix of aerodynamics, stiffness and low weight.
The geometry of the frame was developed together with Cannondale's bike fitting partner Guru based on several thousand measurement data.
