Market: An extremely ambitious bicycle project is currently causing a stir on Kickstarter. There, some clever minds from the USA and China are asking for financial support for their electric bike, which is either ambitious or extremely pessimistic. The interesting thing about it: The bike can be folded up very small and should weigh less than 5kg.
Kickstarter is now known as a crowdfunding platform for crazy ideas, of which only a few ultimately make it to series production. Nevertheless, it can be doubted that the name Impossible is a realistic and pessimistic anticipation of the future of the project. The makers see themselves more in a row with Tom Cruise, whose Mission Impossible has turned out to be not quite so impossible in the meantime. But now some details about the bike itself.
The drive is provided by two flat motors stowed in the tiny hard rubber wheels. These should accelerate the plastic vehicle to 20-25km/h - for up to 45 minutes. However, the whole construction doesn't look too trustworthy yet, even if it seems to work well on the flat road in the demo video. It's no coincidence that the designers specify a maximum weight of 85kg - but nothing is known about a restriction to pothole-free roads. The Impossible should cost 430 Canadian dollars – just over 300€.
