Product news: GIANT: New Reign and Glory model series 2015 with 27,5 inches

17 November 2014 by Andrew Waldera

Market: The successful GIANT MTB models Reign and Glory will roll on 2015 inch wheels from the 27,5 model year. With this, GIANT continues the step in the direction of the new wheel size.

The newly developed GIANT Reign for 2015 has some changes compared to the previous model. For example, Maestro rockers that are controlled more widely and are on the outside are used, which should give the rear triangle with 160 mm spring travel even greater rigidity. Consequently, the Reign now also has a thru-axle at the rear. For an even better response of the rear triangle, the engineers have donated industrial bearings to the upper damper pivot point. In addition to improving performance, the developers were also able to reduce the weight. According to the manufacturer, the frame without damper weighs only 2260 grams. The cables are routed completely internally and thus contribute to the successful overall picture of the Reign. The Reign is available with Advanced Carbon frames and AluxX SL frames.

The downhill weapon GIANT Glory also rolls on 2015 inch wheels from the 27,5 model season. After two years of development work and many tests, the Glory now confidently presents itself to the public. After the Factory Off-Road Team has been successfully on the road with the prototype for a year, every downhiller can now make use of the advantages of this fast bike. The tried and tested Maestro chassis with a virtual pivot offers the rider a whopping 203 mm of travel. The heart of the Glory is the light and stiff AluxX frame. The bike is available in three versions, with the Glory 0 being the top model. As a bonus, the Glory will also be available as a carbon version in spring 2015.
