cycling: Caja Rural-Seguros RGA: 2015 with Fuji Bikes on the hunt for success

19 December 2014 by Andrew Waldera

<> on April 11, 2014 in Markina-Xemein, Spain.

Cycling: For the next two years, the Spanish Pro Continental Team Caja Rural-Seguros RGA will compete on Fuji bikes. Philadelphia-based Fuji Advanced Sports supplies the 19-rider Pro Team squad with the Altamira and Transonic models.

Fuji has been supporting cycling since the early 1900s and incorporates the valuable experiences of cyclists into the development of new bikes. In 2011, a Grand Tour victory at the Vuelta a Espana was celebrated for the first time. Last year Leo König won stage 8 of the Vuelta a Espana on a Fuji Altamira. More victories are to follow with the Caja Rural-Seguros RGA team.

Founded as a junior and amateur team in 1992, it registered as a pro continental team in 2011. The main sponsors are the Spanish banking company Caja Rural and the insurance company Seguros RGA. The squad has very strong climbers who are always good for surprises. In 2014 the team was able to win four races, including the Vuelta a Castilla y Leon and the La Tropicale Amissa Bogon. Classics such as the Vuelta a Espana, Clasica de San Sebastian and Volta a Portugal are already firmly planned in the 2015 racing calendar.
