Cycling: Pauwels was able to prevail over his compatriot Vantornout in the third round of the Cross World Cup in Milton Keynes. With his victory, the Belgian is now ahead in the overall standings of the Cross World Cup.

The race in Milton Keynes, England, was characterized by high speed on deep ground. A leading group of five riders, which also included the German Philipp Walsleben, set the pace at the Cross World Cup premiere in Great Britain. In the third lap, Walsleben was even able to move to the top of the leading group, but then had to bow to the high speed of Pauwels and Vantornout. In the end, the German was able to achieve a good fifth place. Important points, with which Walsleben is now in fifth place in the overall standings. Third in Milton Keynes was Frenchman Franzis Mourey ahead of Dutchman van der Haar. In the women's race, which took place without German drivers, the Belgian Sanne Cant won ahead of the American Katherine Compton. The final sprint of the two drivers was decided by a photo finish. Nikki Harris from England came in third.
