Cycling: Registration for the 10th edition of the Engadin Cycle Marathon, one of the largest and most demanding races in Switzerland, is now open. You can choose between two routes with a length of 97 or 211 kilometers for the classic.
The event starts and ends in Zernez at the gate of the Swiss National Park. The shorter route takes you via the Ofen Pass road to Livigno in Italy and back to the Engadine via the Bernina Pass. 1325 vertical meters have to be fought for on this route, which is also part of the long distance. After crossing the finish line, the long-distance drivers drive an additional loop via Davos, Schmitten and Bergün. The Flüela Pass at 2383 meters and the 2315 meter high Albula Pass will severely deplete the energy and power reserves of cyclists. All in all, the long-distance participants can look forward to an impressive 3827 meters in altitude.
The 10th Engadin Cycle Marathon, which is also part of the Swiss Cycling Top Tour, will take place on July 12, 2015. The organizer promises a few innovations for the anniversary edition of the classic. Registration for the race is open since today.
