Cycling: On the final day of the Track Cycling World Cup in London, Erfurt's Kristina Vogel was once again able to demonstrate her excellent form. The silver medal also means first place in the nation ranking for the BDR team.
In the keirin, only the Chinese Shuang Guo was faster than the multiple world champion. With second place, the Erfurt native was on the podium for the third time in London and thus received half of the German medals. The men's sprint was also held yesterday. The winner in Keirin Stefan Bötticher took fifth place, his teammate Robert Förstemann eighth place. Many eyes were also on Roger Kluge when he made his track comeback in the Omnium, although he fell short of expectations with 14th place.
Overall, the German track cyclists can look back on an extremely successful weekend. With three golds, two silvers and one bronze, the BDR team in London confirmed its claim to be the world leader.
