Next weekend the German Cyclocross Championship will take place in Borna, Saxony; I arrived on Thursday and already checked out the route on foot.
The course consists largely of forest paths and some passages on meadows. The forest trails are wet and a bit muddy, but they still seem to be very rideable at the moment. Rain and snow have left clearer marks on the meadows in the past few days. Many places were already very deep and marked by many grooves. The few drivers who have been on the championship circuit so far have already tried to drive alternative tracks.
More rain is forecast in Borna for the next few days, which will certainly not help the course, so there will be muddy championships and the rhino, Limus or other muddy tires will probably be raised.
For the next few days I will try to bring you new info from the track and summarize what happened at the circuit every evening.
