Cycling: The last run of the Cross World Cup 2014/2015 took place in Hoogerheide (Netherlands) last weekend. The winner of the race was the Dutchman Mathieu van der Poel, the overall victory of the World Cup was secured by the Belgian Kevin Pauwels with a fourth place.

In front of his home crowd, Mathieu van der Poel dominated the race and was able to win his first World Cup. He crossed the finish line more than a minute ahead of second-placed Wout van Aert from Belgium. Third place went to Gianni Vermeersch, also from Belgium. As the best German, Philipp Walsleben took 14th place, the German champion Marcel Meisen ended up in 17th place.

Kevin Pauwel's overall victory in the World Cup was already evident before the race. With a clear lead of 85 points, Pauwels is in front of Dutchman Lars van der Haar. Only third place left room for excitement. Corne van Kessel from the Netherlands can celebrate third place in the overall standings with just a one-point lead over Philipp Walsleben.

The day's victory in Hoogerheide in the women's category went to Eva Lechner from Italy ahead of Katerina Nash from the Czech Republic and Pauline Ferrand-Prevot from France. The best German was the German champion Jessica Lambracht in 24th place. The Belgian Sanna Cant, who, like Kevin Pauwels, also finished fourth in Hoogerheide, can celebrate the overall victory of the World Cup. The other places in the overall standings are occupied by Ellen van Loy from Belgium and Katie Compton from the USA.
