Cycling: In a few days, the Dubai Tour will start for the second time. From February 4th, the successor to last year's winner, Taylor Phinney, will be sought over 663km spread over four stages. Some German top drivers are also there.
When the 16 teams from downtown Dubai make their way to the first stage next Wednesday, John Degenkolb (Giant-Alpecin), Tony Martin (Etixx-QuickStep) and Rick Zabel (BMC) will also be among three German professionals be them. In any case, the organizers spared no expense or effort to make the tour even more attractive for drivers and fans in its second year. The 663 km promise a lot of variety, after the tour last year was more of an affair for the sprinters - Marcel Kittel won three out of four stages - this year there is even a mountain finish and one or the other demanding climb in the profile.
As in the previous year, some cycling greats appear under the names of the participants in 2015, including Vincenzo Nibali and Mark Cavendish. This year, none other than designer Paul Smith is responsible for the jerseys of the respective leaders in the individual rankings.
The blue jersey for the overall leader
The white jersey for the best young professional U25
The red jersey for the driver with the most sprint points
The Emirates flag jersey for the rider with the most intermediate stage sprint points
In Germany you can follow every stage live on Eurosport 2. The starting shot will be fired on February 4th at 11:00 a.m.
