Test: In a way, flat tires are the common denominator of all cyclists: from downhillers to commuters, fixie riders to racing cyclists, unfortunately everyone knows them. If it happens in the middle of the tour, the hole needs to be plugged first or the tube needs to be replaced and then the tire needs to be re-inflated – depending on volume, desired pressure and pump, this is often a tedious feat of strength. The Procraft Multitool Beto CO² helps with all work steps - including inflation via CO² cartridge.

A look at the tools supplied shows that the Beto CO² is no ordinary multi-tool. It does come with the usual tools such as Allen keys, screwdrivers and two Torx keys of different sizes, but the focus is clearly on the tool as a breakdown helper: Two sturdy tire levers, self-adhesive repair kit and an integrated CO² pump with cartridge take care of a flat tire the horror along the way.
application
The Procraft multitool is not necessarily a hand flatterer. This is mainly due to the plastic housing that the tools are in, which is not completely cleanly processed everywhere, but there are no functional defects and there is nothing to be desired in terms of stability either. The tools themselves leave nothing to be desired in terms of processing. The keys and the screwdriver are made of high-quality steel and really fit extremely well. Even slightly maltreated screw heads can still be turned well with it. Although the tire levers are made of plastic, they are extremely stable and make a very durable impression. The three self-adhesive patches are well-chosen in size and seal reliably in practice. The pump integrated in the middle of the tool can be used for all valve types and works really well.
handling
When it comes to handling, the Procraft multitool Beto CO² shows itself with ups and downs: while the pump really works perfectly and puts a flat tire under pressure again in fractions of a second. The supplied 16g cartridge is sufficient for approx. 8 bar in road bike tires and approx. 2 bar in a 26″ MTB tire. We think it's a pity that there is no way to attach the cartridge to the tool - it always falls around loosely in a backpack or jersey pocket. Incidentally, a 3-pack of cartridges costs around €15 when you buy them later.
So much for the positive - unfortunately the handling of the Allen and Torx keys and the screwdrivers is mixed, which is mainly due to the fact that they are just extremely short. In some cases, it was not even possible for us to reach the screw because the tool was too unwieldy. A pity!
