Cycling: Marcel Kittel announced his spring program at a press conference on the sidelines of the Tour of Qatar. Somewhat surprisingly, the 26-year-old will start again at Paris-Roubaix after a 4-year absence.
The spring classic Paris-Roubaix, notorious for its cobblestones, will take place on April 12 this year and Kittel will start as the leader of Giant-Alpecin. He had already taken part once in 2011, but didn't make it to the finish within the time limit - this year should of course be different.
Tirreno-Adriatico and Gent-Wevelgem are also on the program for the Thuringian – but he will skip Milan-San Remo. There, John Degenkolb will be the leader, who a few days ago secured second place at the Dubai Tour. Marcel Kittel, on the other hand, finds it difficult to get going. After the great season opener with the Victory in the prologue of the Tour Down Under, so far he has not been able to either there or at the currently ongoing Tour of Qatar bring your strengths to the streets. Maybe then in April on the cobblestones of France.
