Product news: Mavic Deemax Ultimate now also in 650B

13. February 2015 by Rick Schubert

Market: Mavic was able to celebrate great successes in the past Downhill World Cup season. You could win two victories with the Deemax Ultimate. For the new season, the wheelset is now also available in 27.5 inches.

The advantages of the large 650B wheels were also tested in downhill last year and a few teams have already used them in races with great success. Mavic is now following suit and is launching the successful model, the Deemax Ultimate, also in the medium wheel size.

The sentence, as known from Mavic, comes in bright money. The hubs were taken from the 26-inch wheelset and come with the ITS4 freewheel, which is intended to ensure direct power transmission. The rims used are completely new. This measures a width of 21 millimeters and comes with a reinforcement rib attached in the middle, which is supposed to create an advantage in terms of stiffness and weight.

Despite the much larger rims, the weight could be kept low and the 27.5 inch version of the Mavic Deemax Ultimate weighs only 50 grams more. The entire set weighs 2015 grams. They are available from specialist retailers for a price of 900 euros.
