Test: The XLC brand grew out of the Winora Group (including Haibike) a little over 10 years ago and now offers bicycle accessories and components in almost all price and equipment classes, including a large number of bicycle tools. This also includes the XLC multitool TO-M06 - the minimalist tool with the cryptic name did well in the test.

Torx,T25
Phillips/slotted screwdriver
[/easy table]The XLC tool is extremely minimalist in terms of its range of functions. In addition to a set of Allen keys in the usual bike sizes, there is also a contemporary T25 Torx key and a Phillips or slotted screwdriver. In particular, the tire levers are missing for repairs on the road and even if a chain breaks, you are in a fix with the multi-tool from XLC.
application
When it comes to the choice of material, XLC relies entirely on metal for its TO-M06 multi-tool: the frame is made of light, anthracite-blue anodized aluminum and the tools are made of high-quality steel. The tools are pleasantly easy to open, but also stay in place if you wish. If you have to open screws that are a little tighter, the rigid case can be used very well as a lever and does not twist even under great forces.
handling
As mentioned, the XLC tool offers very few tools, but these are really very easy to use. This is due in particular to the fact that XLC does not make the mistake of many other manufacturers and uses very short "stub keys" for reasons of space. This makes the multi-tool a bit longer, but thanks to the nicely long tools, it is usually quite comfortable to work even in hard-to-reach places. Only the 8mm Allen key is very short - but here, too, something has been thought of: In most cases, this is required for the pedals, since torques of more than 20nm are sometimes applied here, a longer tool would be counterproductive, as it twists much more would.
