Cycling: This weekend Berlin is getting ready for the first road world championship for track bikes. And it's a first: Never before has there been a road race for fixed bikes on a closed course in the marathon distance.
As part of the Garmin Velothon Berlin, a fully secured race over a distance of 42,195 kilometers and only for fixed bikes will take place for the very first time next Sunday, right through the middle of the capital. More than 250 riders fight for the unofficial world championship at the RAD RACE FIXED42 World Championship.
The day before the Fixed World Championship, on Saturday, May 30th, it's "man against man - woman against woman" at the RAD RACE Battle on the Straße des 17. Juni. On the 250 meter long track, the drivers deliver exciting sprints until the fastest woman and the fastest man are determined.
