MTB cycling: The second day of the Protective Bike Four Peaks was decided after 91,05 kilometers and 1.969 meters in altitude in the photo finish. The Swede Calle Friberg (Scott Skoda) was only a few centimeters ahead of defending champion Christoph Sauser (Specialized Racing) to win the stage.

Sauser, who competes in the Protective Bike Four Peaks despite a broken rib, repeated his second place from the previous day. Austrian-born Uwe Hochenwarter (Bikearena Obertraun) was also able to repeat his result from the opening race with third place. In fourth place overall leader Juri Ragnoli (Team Scott) successfully defended the yellow jersey. Matthias Leisling (Texpa-Simplon) crossed the finish line in fifth place as the best German. In the women's category, Sanna van Paassen (Specialized) from the Netherlands was able to extend her overall lead with her second stage win.
