Hello dear Mercury fans.
Today it got me to tell you about my impressions and the race in Dresden.
As you have already seen, we prepared ourselves perfectly for the race on Sunday with coffee and cake and a nice cold bath.
After we had strengthened ourselves with carbohydrates and discussed the tactics for the race on Saturday evening, we went to bed. You have to go into an important race rested.
After a good breakfast on Sunday, it was time for us to make preparations for the race. Everyone was highly motivated and eager for a heated battle ;-).
The start was quiet, but after the starting gun the tide turned. The race became fast, very fast. After an unsuccessful attack, the second attack I launched was all the more effective. A leading group was formed, which continued to expand the lead. Daniel and I were also part of the party. All I can say is that it was really tough at times. We built up a 25 second lead. This also lasted for a while.
The group harmonized, spinning in front of them and keeping their distance. But then we picked up the pace again. The aim was to further expand the lead. The race got harder from lap to lap. The distance bigger. I fought to connect with the group and got everything out of myself.
Then it was the last round. Here it was then already to think about the final. Shortly thereafter, unfortunately, the race was already over for me. A defect in the rear wheel ruined a top position. Thanks to the flat tire, the peloton caught up with me and was suddenly behind the peloton.
Worked hard the whole race and then fell back again. That was frustrating...
Daniel drove home the victory in the sprint.
I'm proud of all of us and I'm now preparing intensively for 6 weeks for the Riderman. The goals for this have been set and I have big plans. So the motto is: train, train, train ;-).
Greetings from Düsseldorf and stay healthy everyone.
