August 4, 2015 by Andrew Waldera

Market: With a specified weight of just 700 grams and many sophisticated details, the MET Parachute HES full-face helmet offers the best conditions for safe enduro biking. The lightweight is confirmed by the American standard for downhill mountain bike racing helmets ASTM F1952.

The special HES construction (Homothetic Embedded Skeleton) made it possible to develop a helmet with a very high protection factor and a very low weight. The skeleton construction integrated into the helmet shell distributes the energy evenly over the entire helmet in the event of an impact. The chin guard and the helmet shell are a monocoque construction, so the MET Parachute HES is a real full-face helmet. In addition to the weight, the advantages over conventional full-face helmets are more effective ventilation and better perception of the environment.

The shape of the visor, which can be adjusted without tools, was chosen in such a way that the cooling air is directed into the helmet. The increased wearing comfort should also be guaranteed by the very small head contact area of 50% and washable inner padding (anti-allergic/anti-bacterial). So that sweat is not absorbed, the Gel O2 front pad has a groove pattern that wicks sweat away from the forehead to the side. Other features of the MET Parachute HES include a strap holder for goggles and a standard mount for mounting an action cam. The helmet is available in sizes M (54-58 cm, 700 grams) and L (59-62 cm, 740 grams) at a price of 199 euros.
