Market / Spectrum: The German Design Council has awarded the Cerebel Aero racing bike helmet from the Swedish company POC with the German Design Award 2016 in the "Sports, Outdoor Activities and Leisure" category. The German Design Award honors international products that are pioneering in their own way.
The jury praised the POC Cerebel helmet as a compact, easy-to-use sports helmet with excellent aerodynamic properties. In this context, reference was made to the investigations in the wind tunnel and the extensive computer simulations. The result is an excellent helmet that not only protects the wearer and saves energy, but also offers maximum comfort. The POC Cerebel Aero road bike helmet is therefore state of the art, a helmet that combines quality with visual design.
The POC Cerebel helmet was developed in close cooperation with the Volvo Car Group and the POC WATTS Lab. The helmet is equipped with a removable Zeiss visor. A unique magnet system is used to attach the visor. The tinting of the visor increases contrast perception and allows obstacles to be recognized more quickly. Beneath the aerodynamic shell, molded soft EVA foam absorbs impact energy in the event of a fall.
