cycling: With Team Mavic to the Haute Route: Apply by January 8th!

Cycling: The events of the Haute Route series are among the crème de la crème in the amateur sector – in 2016, for the first time, 12 lucky riders will have the opportunity to ride in Team Mavic and feel like a pro. The French cycling experts, who have been providing technical support since the beginning of the series in 2011, ensure professional equipment, supplies, support and even preparation. Anyone can apply – until January 8th.

The routes of the Haute Route events have been at a professional level since their inception four years ago and it is not uncommon for them to find themselves partly or entirely under the wheels of the pro peloton. Twelve drivers now have the opportunity to get a taste of real professional air with the 'extras'. Mavic has been a supporter and technical partner of the Haute Route since the very beginning and ensures every year, at every race, that the riders are quickly back on the saddle in the event of a technical defect. For 2016 there is now a Mavic team for the first time, for which the French manufacturer not only provides the material, but whose riders also benefit from the support and coaching of the Mavic ambassadors.

mavic2The drivers of Team Mavic are determined via an individual selection process. Interested parties can still apply until January 8th - after that it will be up to the jurors at Mavic to decide who will actually start with the yellow jersey of Team Mavic. Riders will benefit from an all-round carefree package: kit, wheels, helmets and shoes will be provided. In addition, Mavic covers both the registration fee and also pays for travel, transfer and accommodation. As a special treat, there is an invitation to the Haute Route training camp in the spring, where Mavic ambassadors Tim Johnson, Mike Cotty, Nicolas Roux and Omar di Felice will get the 12 riders in shape.

“We look forward to supporting the Team Mavic riders during their training and to getting them ready to start in the summer with the best possible conditions. I would really advise anyone interested in the 2016 Haute Route to apply for a place on Team Mavic.” says Mavic Brand Director Francois-Xavier Blanc. Registration runs until January 8th - in January there will also be a photo campaign on Facebook, where the last starting places can be grabbed.
